Meet Me in the Middle
RIVER CITY SWING is excited to host another fall workshop to level up your Lindy Hop! Join us from November 5 - 8 for a weekend of live music and dance workshops!

Once again, we are hosting TWO SETS of instructors, we're welcoming back Lunou Samson Poirot & Jonathon Caron from Trois-Rivières and new this year - Kofi Arthiabah (Ottawa) & Megan Sydiaha (Montreal)!

Levels
This workshop will offer leveled class options throughout the weekend. Whether you’re just starting out or well on your dance journey, there’s a class designed for you.
Level 1 - You've taken a class or two, you have learned 6-count or 8-count Lindy (or both!) you might know a little Charleston or have started learning the Swingout
Level 2 - You've been taking classes for a couple of years and social dance regularly, you are comfortable switching between 6 and 8 count Lindy while dancing and are comfortable executing a swingout on the social dance floor, you may have begun learning Charleston as well
Level 3 - You've taken control of your dancing learning and have taken several out-of-town workshops, you social dance regularly and may be teaching. This level is invite-only, you'll be contacted in advance of the workshop if this level is a good fit for you. Any questions about leveling can be sent to rivercityswingwpg@gmail.com
Out-of-town Attendees
Looking to attend from out of town? When signing up you'll have the option to request housing, if you do you'll be contacted closer to the workshop date to connect you with a local dancer with space to host you. If you're a local looking to host let us know!

Red Aces Social w/ The Misery Mountain Boys (Red Deer)

Saturday, May 16 is our last big social dance of the year and we are thrilled to have The Misery Mountain Boys join us at the Red Deer Legion.
Experienced and beginner dancers alike will have a great time on the parquet wood floor to the this tight band with tunes that will keep you moving all night! There are lots of options for food and drinks at the Legion bar. We'll start the night with our typical beginner Lindy Hop lesson at 7:30 pm and the band will take the stage at 8:30 pm.
Cost is $25 per person. ($22 for Students, Seniors and 'Out of Towners'. $15 for Legion members with membership card.)
The Legion is open all evening so feel free to come on down early for drinks, snacks or supper beforehand.
7:00 pm - Doors Open to the dance hall
7:30 pm - Beginner Lindy Hop lesson (No experience or partner required)
8:30 pm - The Misery Mountain Boys!

Get Ready for Swingvolution April 17 & 18, 2026!
Swingvolution is Lethbridge's Annual 1 Day Workshop & Exchange! We'll feature a full day of great classes from great instructors, and 2 nights of social dancing with live music!
In the world of swing dancing, finding high-quality workshops tailored for early skill dancers can be a challenge. As events grow, they often attract top-tier talent and higher registration costs, making it intimidating for newer dancers.
We believe there's more than enough talent and passion for lindy hop, balboa, charleston, shag, blues (& more!) right here in the prairies, waiting to be shared with everyone.
Our goal is simple: keep things affordable, accessible, and community‑rooted. Familiar teachers know our dancers, our scenes, and how to guide us on our swing dance journey.
This one‑day workshop welcomes dancers from across the prairies, not just Lethbridge. We can’t wait to share our community, our hospitality, and a full day of learning and joy.
