Music in the Plaza: Peter & the Wolves
Mark your calendars! Music in the Plaza is back August 26th with the toe-tapping sounds of the Peter & the Wolves!
Howlin’ Pete Cormier started this band in 2011 with rhythm at the roots, and the purpose of creating a hoppin’ dance floor at every show. He writes his songs in the style of the great rock n’ rollers from the 1950s like Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly. Over the years, it has grown into a powerful touring act, traveling the world with a rotating line-up.
Grab dinner at the Selkirk, browse the shops in the Mercantile Block, pick up a coffee from Railway Café or settle in with a lawn chair and enjoy the show.

Music in the Plaza: Midnight Blue Jazz Society

Midnight Blue Jazz Society is Calgary’s most entertaining 17-piece big band. With a repertoire ranging from classic 1940’s big band arrangements to modern pop hits, our music draws from diverse styles including swing, jazz, blues, latin, funk and classic rock.

Red Aces Social w/ The Misery Mountain Boys (Red Deer)

Saturday, May 16 is our last big social dance of the year and we are thrilled to have The Misery Mountain Boys join us at the Red Deer Legion.
Experienced and beginner dancers alike will have a great time on the parquet wood floor to the this tight band with tunes that will keep you moving all night! There are lots of options for food and drinks at the Legion bar. We'll start the night with our typical beginner Lindy Hop lesson at 7:30 pm and the band will take the stage at 8:30 pm.
Cost is $25 per person. ($22 for Students, Seniors and 'Out of Towners'. $15 for Legion members with membership card.)
The Legion is open all evening so feel free to come on down early for drinks, snacks or supper beforehand.
7:00 pm - Doors Open to the dance hall
7:30 pm - Beginner Lindy Hop lesson (No experience or partner required)
8:30 pm - The Misery Mountain Boys!

As always, there will also be a complimentary beginner lesson to teach you everything you need to know to join the fun on the dance floor! No experience or partner required.

Red Aces Social Dance: The Rick Moore Trio
This social dance is hosted by the Red Aces Dance Club in Red Deer!
On Saturday, March 7th, they have the Rick Moore Trio playing live music at the Scott Block Theatre.
